The Buh Hines Group, LLC was formed in 2011 by principles Bill Buh and John Hines in an effort to develop and market a convenient and efficient fire starter primarily for campfire and fireplace use, but other possible uses include emergency heat, emergency flare and even a chemical-free, charcoal lighter for backyard barbecuing.
Bill Buh is a natural born tinkerer and has been inventing products since childhood and even designed toys in the early 1960s for the renowned toy maker Marvin Glass. Bill came up with the original concept for Dragon In A Box after struggling to light the family campfires during vacations and the fireplace at home. He searched for a clean, convenient, hassle-free solution to an age-old problem and continued to experiment and make improvements and refine the fire starter over the years. The unique design of Dragon In A Box is the result of this evolution.
John Hines is a graduate of Lake Forest School of Management and a retired inventory controller from Abbott Labs, with over 31 years of service to the company. John’s business acumen and steady management approach are the perfect compliment to develop and market the fruits of Bill’s creative instincts.
Jim Buh has been involved with sales and marketing for various companies for over 20 years, specializing in promotional items for corporate accounts. Jim’s friendly demeanor and good humor have served him well, not only in sales, but also in customer relations and product procurement.
Jeff Murphy has been co-owner with a DIY entrepreneurial business for over 30 years and has been responsible for daily order processing and fulfillment, including updating and maintaining the company website and mail order service.
The initial launch of Dragon In A Box for campfires and fireplace fires is the first product for the Buh Hines Group, with additional products in the planning stages for future release. Bill and John will oversee company operations and the planning, development and execution of this product and all future endeavors.
